Tony Torres
Vice President
Tony Torres' duties as vice president at DSO include assisting the president in long-range planning; budget oversight; client development; ensuring quality control of day-to-day projects; and hiring, training and directing project staff.

Mr. Torres' DSO projects have included:
  • 6th Viaduct Seismic Improvement Project, Bureau of Engineering, City of Los Angeles
  • Chevy Chase Reservoir Project, City of Glendale
  • MTA 710 Expansion
  • PHRMA, CPAT Outreach
  • Solid Waste Integrated Resource Plan (SWIRP), Bureau of Sanitation, City of Los Angeles
Prior to joining the DSO team, Mr. Torres had an extensive background in political, labor and community organizing throughout the state of California. He has more than 13 years of experience in developing communications and outreach programs in Southern California communities.

A former campaign staff member to County Supervisor Gloria Molina and then-State Assemblyman Antonio Villaraigosa, Mr. Torres' political efforts have helped elect many Latino officials to local and state government positions.

Mr. Torres' labor background includes the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), Local 434 Homecare Workers Union, the Orange County Public Employees Council and the International Union of Electrical Workers (IUE), AFL-CIO, where he successfully organized public and private sector employees.

Additionally, Mr. Torres was vice president and executive director of the Community Service Organization (CSO), a statewide, community-based nonprofit with eight chapters in California.

Mr. Torres grew up in Boyle Heights and is still a resident there. A very effective communicator, he is fluent in speaking and writing English and Spanish. He has been with DSO since 1997.
